Welcome to the Rotation of the Sun Exercise
(Read the legal bits about the exercise)

Worksheet:
Before you begin, be sure you've got a copy of the worksheet (follow the link to download the PDF file). This is where you'll be putting your answers.

Required Plug-ins:

Shockwave:
To run the exercise from a web browser, the Shockwave plugin must be installed. If you do not have the plugin, you can download it from Macromedia (for free). Note: If you are having trouble, the plug-in that shipped with your browser may be out of date. Goto the Macromedia page and install the latest version. (Keep in mind that there are a couple steps to the install process: download, then run the installer.)

Quicktime:
This assignment also requires Apple's Quicktime software in order to play some of the movies. You can download the software for free from Apple's site.

All Set:
Once you have the worksheet printed out, dig up a calculator and a pencil and get ready to go!

  • Click here to continue the exercise using your web browser and Shockwave.
Note: if it looks like the exercise is "sort of running" - you see some text, but it just sits there, it's downloading one of the movies. They are a few Mb in size, so it takes a while (especially if you have a slow connection). I noticed that Internet Explorer on Windows didn't really give you any indication it was downloading something. Just be patient.
